The Dehydrated Box was a gift for a relative that was like a second mother to me while attending college. She wanted a “little box for my nightstand where I can keep stuff.” We’d had a few conversations concerning the use of fresh coffee beans vs pre-ground to dehydrated vacuum-packed grounds. She was all for fresh beans, but the dehydrated vacuum-packed was just so much more convenient. So, when I made the box she asked for, I decided, as a joke, to make a point suggesting that all she needed to do was add a little water and the box would expand to its full size and shape.
