I had been playing with the idea in the back of my mind of using changes in the picture plane and different light directions to change the colors of a painting by constructing substrates that undulate with various changes in depth of surface by pushing out and pulling in the canvas, combining the concept of Sculpture with the registering of chroma (color) by the eye from a variety of light sources. This was a piece done for a specific show as another test. Eventually, I’ll do a whole series.
